David presents at Brenntag’s Experience Day

How innovative technologies can contribue to European chemical industry competitiveness

We were honored to take part in discussions at Brenntag’s Experience Day last week, joining industry leaders and other innovators.

The European chemical industry is under pressure, with Roland Berger & Cefic recently reporting that Europe has lost around 10% of its chemical production capacity since 2022 (almost 30 million tons capacity net), about half due to high costs.* In this context, how can newcomers reshape chemical value chains?

Dioxycle’s David Wakerley, PhD shared the key drivers that make Dioxycle’s technology cost competitive:
➔ Radical new design, simplifying multi-step production processes for C1-C3 chemicals.
➔ Reducing complexity and operative costs. Our modular electrolyzer stack technology is decentralized, scalable and needs much lower upfront investment and operation costs than traditional pipe & column-heavy technologies.
➔ Substantially lower CAPEX and raw material costs.

It was great to take part in such lively discussions and make connections across the industry, as well as to share the conversation with Alex Richert of CleanPlanet Chemical and hear about their industrial solvent recycling solution.

A big thank you to the Brenntag team for the invitation, for hosting us – and a big thanks to Wolfgang Edel!
